The essentials
This website sets no cookies for visitors, uses no analytics or tracking services and embeds no third-party content. Fonts, images and PDF documents are served exclusively from our own web server. There is no contact form.
The only exception is the password-protected admin area the site operators use to maintain publications: after logging in, a technically necessary session cookie is set there, which is deleted on logout or when the browser is closed (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). Visitors to the public pages are not affected.
Hosting and server log files
The website is hosted by STRATO AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. When pages are accessed, the hosting provider automatically processes technically necessary data in server log files: IP address, date and time of access, page or file requested, amount of data transferred, referrer URL, and browser type and operating system.
This processing is necessary to deliver the website and ensure its stability and security. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and error-free operation of the website. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the hosting provider. Log files are deleted or anonymised after a short period in line with the provider’s settings.
Contact by email or phone
If you contact us by email or phone, we process the data you provide (e.g. name, email address, phone number, content of your enquiry) to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The data is deleted once it is no longer needed and no statutory retention obligations apply.
External links
The publication archive links to articles in external media (e.g. Ctour, Die Welt) and to a video on Facebook. This content is not embedded: a connection to those providers is only established when you click such a link. From then on, the respective provider’s privacy policy applies.
Your rights
You have the right of access to your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). Where processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, you may object to it on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21). Simply use the contact details above.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The competent authority is: Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany.
